Its current jail roster includes a registration icon, and Louisiana DPS&C also directs people to the service. The service receives data from participating agencies. For Iberia Parish, that can include a local jail custody event and Louisiana corrections information. Coverage does not turn VINELink into a court file or a full release record. A court minute explains the legal order. The sheriff’s release record can supply the actual timestamp, code, and destination. DPS&C answers state-sentence and facility questions.
Federal systems remain separate. A sentenced federal person belongs on the Bureau of Prisons locator path. A state-sentenced person can remain in a Louisiana corrections record after leaving prison because parole or good-time supervision continues. A person who finished custody and supervision may later show a closed or discharged status depending on the source. Historical visibility is not guaranteed forever. Automated calls may ask for the PIN so the recipient can confirm the message. A failed or missed delivery does not freeze the underlying custody event. Keep the agency contact and check the source record directly when timing matters.

The current Iberia feed is best read narrowly. An `IN` result means the local source reports current custody. A missing name only suggests the feed changed. The person may have bonded out, completed a local sentence, transferred to DPS&C, moved to federal or immigration authority, or shifted to another custodian. Ask the sheriff for the actual release timestamp, release or disposition code, and receiving agency to distinguish those outcomes.
If the record concerns a Louisiana sentence, call the DPS&C locator at 225-383-4580 with the DPS&C number or the person’s name and date of birth. That channel can provide custody location and a projected release date if applicable. It does not turn VINE’s current status into a sentence calculation.
The 16th Judicial District court channel answers a different question. Its minutes can show a bond order, sentence, dismissal, or other case action that explains why custody changed. The court record does not replace the sheriff’s actual release time, and VINELink does not replace the court disposition. The distinction is practical. VINE delivers automated agency-fed events. Formal victim registration follows the state’s statutory notification process. Both may concern the same incarcerated person, but they have different enrollment steps, legal purposes, and contacts.
Keep separate confirmation for each enrollment. A VINELink subscription confirmation shows that an alert method was registered for a selected record. Crime Victim Services documentation shows formal enrollment under its own process. If a phone number or email changes, update the system that holds that contact. Updating one should not be assumed to update the other.
Parole notice adds another timing layer. A scheduled parole hearing, a committee result, an institutional release, and a later supervision discharge are distinct events. Formal victim services may address statutory notice for some of those steps, while VINE reports custody changes supplied by participating agencies. Neither channel should be described as a guarantee that every event will arrive at the same time.
Confirm Iberia Parish VINE Releases
After an alert, identify exactly what changed and which agency reported it. For a local booking, ask Iberia Parish Sheriff for the actual release record and receiving agency. Check the 16th Judicial District court minute for the bond, dismissal, sentence, or other order that explains the event. Bond release does not end the prosecution, and release by Iberia does not rule out a hold.
